INTERNATIONALLY MANDATED PROGRAMS

ACHIEVEMENT WEEK

Chairman: Bro. Norman Clark

Observed each November and is designed to recognize those individuals in the New Orleans Metropolitan area who have contributed to community uplift. A High School Essay Contest is held in conjunction with Achievement Week.

SCHOLARSHIP

Chairman: Bro. Ryan Banks

Promotes academic excellence among the undergraduate members. Graduate chapters provide financial assistance to student members and non-members.

SOCIAL ACTION

Chairman: Bro. Adrian Thibodeaux

Rho Phi participates in activities that will uplift our communities. Some of the activities include: voter registration, Assault on Illiteracy; Habitat for Humanity; mentoring; and participation in fundraisers for charitable organizations.

TALENT HUNT PROGRAM

Chairman: Bro. Ahmad Boykins

Provides exposure, encouragement and financial assistance to talented young people participating in the performing arts. Winners are awarded recognition and may be given college scholarships.

MEMORIAL SERVICE

Chairman: Bro. Michael Raymond

March 12th of each year Rho Phi conducts an appropriate service to recall the memory of those members who have entered into Omega Chapter.

RECLAMATION AND RETENTION

Chairman: Bro. Carl Dawson

Rho Phi makes a concerted effort to retain active brothers and return inactive brothers to full participatory status.

COLLEGE ENDOWMENT FUND

Each year the fraternity gives at least $50,000 to historically black college and universities in furtherance of Omega’s commitment to provide philanthropic support.

HEALTH INITIATIVES

Chairman: Bro. Brian Pettiford

Rho Phi facilitates, participates, and coordinates activities that promote good health practices. Some of the programs are the Charles Drew Blood Drive and partnership with the American Diabetes Association.

VOTER REGISTRATION, EDUCATION & MOBILIZATION

Chairman: Bro. Dwight Jarrett, Sr.

Rho Phi facilitates and participates in activities that uplift our community through the power of the vote.

NAACP

Chairman: Bro. Kelmer Steverson, Jr.

Rho Phi Chapter maintains a Life Membership with the NAACP.  We participate in the activities of our local NAACP Chapter.  Rho Phi encourages all chapter members to join the NAACP.

CONFLICT RESOLUTION

Chairman: Bro. Caesar Ruffin

Rho Phi Chapter supports the efforts of the International Fraternity’s commitment to conflict resolution by hosting a Domestic Violence Summit every year in November.

OMEGA STEM
