December 22, 2020 - Rho Phi Chapter and the Omega Men Foundation donated toys, storybook bibles, personal and household items and gave a monetary donation to a local women's shelter in the Greater New Orleans area.
December 17, 2020 - Rho Phi Chapter and their partners: The Omega Men Foundation and Entergy Inc. held its 12 annual Star Reader program (formerly Tech Tablets For Books). The chapter and the partners held the event virtually due to Covid-19 restrictions with the staff and students at Homer Plessy Charter School. Dragon Touch tablets, purchased through an grant from Entergy, were given to a male and female student in the 5th, 6th and 7th grades who had the best essay on "Why Reading Is Important To Me".
December 16, 2020 - Rho Phi Chapter presented a monetary donation to the Times-Picayune / N.O. Advocate's Doll and Toy Fund. Rho Phi became one of the sponsors of this annual event in 2019.
November 24, 2020 - The Brothers of Rho Phi Chapter continued their annual Thanksgiving Basket Give-Away to needy families in the Greater New Orleans Area. The chapter donated food baskets and hundreds of dollars in gift cards to families and two local Woman's shelters. The chapter also donated $525.00 in gift cards to Metropolitan Human Services District, to give to families from Lake Charles who are living in the city due to the impact of Hurricane Laura.
November 21, 2020 - The 5 chapters that comprise the New Orleans Coalition held their annual Achievement Week Banquet. Achievement Week is observed each November and is designed to recognize brothers at the local level who have contributd to community uplift, Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the banquet was held virtually. The awardees for Rho Phi this year are; Omega Man Of The Year - Bro. Jerome Tinguee. Citizen Of The Year - Bro. Michael Raymond. Founders / Lifetime Achievement - Bro. Michael Wingate Sr.
October 24, 2020 -Rho Phi Chapter hosted its annual Charles Drew Blood Drive at the Wal-Mart Superstore, located at 6000 Bullard Ave. Twenty nine donors, including several Rho Phi Chapter brothers, gave blood during the event.
October 3, 2020 - Rho Phi Chapter along with Booker T. Washington’s Class of 1980 alumni, hosted a Voter Registration Drive at P.J.’s Coffee House, located at 5733 Read Blvd. Twenty nine citizens of the city of New Orleans registered to vote during the event .
October 3, 2020 - Rho Phi Chapter along with brothers from Phi Iota Iota (Laplace) and Mu Mu Nu (North Houston) chapters participated in a Hurricane Laura Relief event that was held in Lake Charles, LA. The event was hosted at New Covenant Faith Baptist Church. Hurricane relief items including water, non-perishable food and a hot lunch was provided to the residents of the area.
October 2, 2020 - Rho Phi Chapter partnered with Homer Plessy charter school to host its 12th annual Real Men Read program. Due to COVID-19 the reading program was held virtually. The program is designed to encourage pre-3 through first grade students to develop good reading habits. The Omega Men Foundation, through a grant from Entergy, Inc., donated a check for $500.00 to the school to purchase books for their library.
July 15, 2020 - Rho Phi Chapter brothers, gave out 2020 Census items and face masks donated by the Ninth District of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. during a food give away by Second Harvestors Food Bank. The event was held at the Goodwill Center located at 3400 Tulane Ave.
July 11, 2020 - Rho Phi Chapter participated in a Voter Registration / Black Lives Matter / Youth Council March. The event was organized by Ephesus Seventh Day Adventist Church. Bro. Clinton Smith was one of the speakers.
March 8, 2020 - The Brothers of Rho Phi Chapter held its annual Memorial Service at Shiloh Christian Fellowship Baptist Church.This mandated program is conducted every year throughout Omega Psi Phi Fraternity in March and serves as a memorial to the Omega Brothers who have entered Omega Chapter during the previous year. Bro. Michael Raymond, Senior Pastor of Shiloh Christian Fellowship Baptist Church and Rho Phi Chapter's Chaplain, delivered the message.
February 28, 2020 - Rho Phi and other chapters belonging to the Greater New Orleans Omega Psi Phi Coalition hosted the Talent Hunt at Cook Theatre, located on the campus of Dillard University.
January 30, 2020 - Rho Phi Chapter received a proclamation from the City Council of New Orleans acknowledging the chapter's Christmas gift boxes, storybook bibles and toys donation to homeless shelters.
January 20, 2020 - Rho Phi Chapter Brothers participated in the Annual March to celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King's Birthday.
