January 16, 2017 - Rho Phi Chapter Brothers participated in the Annual March to celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King's Birthday.
March 12, 2017 - The Brothers of Rho Phi Chapter held its annual Memorial Service at Shiloh Christian Fellowship Church, where Bro. Michael Raymond, is the Senior Pastor. The mandated program is conducted every year in March and serves as a memorial to the Omega Brothers who have entered Omega Chapter during the previous year.
March 15, 2017 - The Brothers of Rho Phi Chapter and The Omega Men Foundation hosted its Kick Butts Program at Joseph Craig Charter School. Kick Butts Day is a national day of activism that empowers youth to stand out, speak up and seize control against tobacco. Each year, over 1,000 events take place across the United States and on military bases around the world. These events highlight the harmful consequences of tobacco use, the tobacco industry’s marketing tactics that lure kids into addiction and the proven solutions that can win the fight against tobacco.
April 15, 2017 - The Brothers of Rho Phi Chapter distributed Easter baskets and Religious articles to children in hospitals and Emergency Shelters in the Greater New Orleans area on the Saturday before Easter.
April 27-29 / May 3-6, 2017 - The Brothers of Rho Phi Chapter donate their time to raise money for scholarships by working the entrance gates at the Jazz Festival. All monies earned by the chapter is used to provide scholarships to students attending Dillard, Xavier and Southern Universities.
September 21, 2017 - Rho Phi Chapter continued our Real Men Read out reach program at Joseph A. Craig Elementary school. Brothers from Rho Phi volunteered to read to the students and emphasize the importance of having good reading skills. This year Rho Phi Chapter partnered with The Omega Men Foundation who donated $500.00 to the School's library to purchase books. The grant was obtained from The Entergy Corporation.
October 27, 2017 - Rho Phi Chapter celebrated the chapter's 90th Anniversary with a Gala held at Miracles Hall. Bro. Johnnie Jones Jr., the guest speaker, spoke on the history of our beloved chapter.
November 4, 2017 - Rho Phi Chapter and partners The Omega Men Foundation and The New Orleans Police Dept. hosted The Domestic Violence Awareness Walk and Summit to bring awareness about this problem and its impact on our community. Household and personal items were donated by brothers and others that were given to 2 domestic violence shelters in the Greater New Orleans Area.
November 5, 2017 - Rho Phi Chapter and partners The Omega Men Foundation and The New Orleans Police Dept. hosted The Domestic Violence Awareness Luncheon to bring awareness about this problem and its impact on our community.
November 12-19, 2017 - The Brothers of Rho Phi Chapter along with brothers in the Greater New Orleans Coalition participated in various activities during Achievement Week, culminating in the Achievement Week Banquet, held on November 18, 2017.
November 20-21, 2017 - The Brothers of Rho Phi Chapter continued their annual Thanksgiving Basket Give-Away to needy families in the Greater New Orleans Area. The chapter donated food baskets and gift cards to 13 families and to a local Domestic Violence Shelter .
December 21, 2017- Rho Phi Chapter continued our Education out reach program at Joseph A. Craig Elementary School. The Chapter partnered with The Omega Men Foundation to emphasize the importance of having good reading skills and to reward middle school students who have improved their reading skills the most with brand new Samsung Tablets. The tablets were purchased through a grant provided to the Omega Men Foundation from The Entergy Corporation.
December 23, 2017 - The Brothers of Rho Phi Chapter along with The Greater New Orleans Pan-Hellenic Council members volunteer to distribute Christmas Turkeys to needy families at the Daughters of Charity South Carrollton Avenue location .
