Christmas Gift Giving
December 19, 2011 - Rho Phi Chapter, in conjunction with Abide Home Care, Lace the Grand Ballroom, Budweiser, Sheriff Marlin Gusman and Orleans Parish Prison, Capital One Bank, St. John the Baptist Parish President Natalie Robottom, and U.S. Foods to distribute 165 bikes and over 300 toys to needy families in the New Orleans Area.
Books For Bikes Program/McDonough 32 Elementary
December 16, 2011 - Rho Phi Chapter held their Books For Bikes award ceremony at McDonough 32 elementary school. This program awards boys and girls in the 4th, 5th and 6th grades who have read the most books during the contest period with bikes
Real Men Read/McDonough 32 Elementary School Session One
November 2, 2011 - Rho Phi Chapter continued our Real Men Read out reach program at McDonough 32 elementary school. Brothers from Rho Phi volunteer to read to the students and emphasis the importance of having good reading skills.

New Orleans Coalition Achievement Week Banquet
November 12, 2011 - The 5 chapters that comprise the New Orleans Coalition held their annual Achievement Week Banquet at the Jefferson South Banquet Hall
Greater Gentilly High School Career Day Program
May 12, 2011 - Rho Phi conducted a career day session with the young men at Greater Gentilly High School. This session featured brothers from the chapter speaking to the young men about their careers and gave them advise on what they should do to make that career choice
College Scholarship Fund Raiser
The Brothers of Rho Phi continued our annual college scholarship fund raising effort by working at the New Orleans Jazz Festival. The festival ran from April 29,30 and May 1,5,6,7,8. Brothers volunteered their time to the Chapter and worked at several gates as ticket collectors.
Easter Baskets / Children Storybook Bible
April 23, 2011 - Rho Phi continued a tradition of visiting Children's Ward at local hospitals the day before Easter to giving hospitalized kids Easter Baskets and Children Bible Stories books. The hospitals visited include: Tulane, Oschner and West Jefferson. Brothers also brought items to two local Battered Women's Centers
Greater Gentilly High School Stay In School Program
March 31, 2011 - Rho Phi conducted a Stay in School session with the young men at Greater Gentilly High School. This session began with the students viewing a short video call "Bring Your A Game", which stressed the importance of staying in school and getting a good education. The program included a question and answer session that rewarded the students with a tasty snack when they answered questions about topics mentioned in the video.
March 27, 2011 - Rho Phi held their annual Memorial Service. This mandated program is conducted every year to recall the memory of those Brothers who have entered Omega Chapter during the year.The service was held at First Zion Baptist Church at their 11:00 am service.
Quette/Memorial Service Breakfast
March 26, 2011 - Rho Phi held its Quette/Memorial Service Breakfast. The event honored six widows of deceased brothers:
- Mrs. Ethel G. Coleman - wife of the late Brother Reed Ellis Coleman
- Mrs. Barbara H. Elloie - wife of the late Brother Henry Elloie
- Mrs. Shirley M. Grady - wife of the late Brother Marshall Grady
- Mrs. Alice Marie Hackett - wife of the late Brother Herbert Hackett
- Mrs. Amy P. Harris - wife of the late Brother Cleveland Harris
- Mrs. Margaret Stevens - wife of the late Brother Samuel W. Stevens
- Mrs. Lorraine G. Williams - wife of the late Brother Harold J. Williams
- Mrs. Marie Augillard - wife of the late Brother George Augillard (not in attendance)
Talent Hunt Program
March 11, 2011 - Rho Phi and Gamma Rho Chapters held their annual Talent Hunt Contest. There were 14 students from the various high schools in the Greater New Orleans area competed for the right to represent each chapter at the 74th Ninth District Meeting's Talent Hunt program that will be held in Monroe, LA.
Greater Gentilly High School Mentoring Program
February 24, 2011 - As part of Rho Phi's committment to impact the lives of the citizens of our community, we have partnered with Greater Gentilly High School to participate in programs that focus on the young men at the school. The goal during the first session was to have brothers from the chapter speak to the young men about our Cardinal Principles: Manhood, Scholarship, Perserverance and Uplift and how we live by these principles every day of our lives.
